Thanks Squeezebox, the image is on my PC. I found another post which mentioned clearing the cache first. Haven't had time to look at that.
I intended to have a try at uploading it from my website instead.
4  Windows XP Assistance / Programs & Applications / Programs on second HDD on: February 08, 2006, 12:36:40 AM
Hope this isn't too late Rexx.
As squeezebox has noted, what you propose can cause difficulties. His method is the norm with extra HDDs.
If you were concerned about getting your Operating System onto a new drive, don't be, many HDDs come with software which enables you to clone everything to the new drive. This leaves your old one free for data.
If the software doesn't come with the HDD it should be on the manufacturers website.
Ask the vendor what utilities are included before buying a drive.
5  Windows XP Assistance / Hardware & Plug-in Equipment / hdd space on: February 07, 2006, 08:20:12 PM
You can limit the amount of HDD space taken up by System Restore, i.e. the number of old Restore Points saved.
    Open System Restore
    Click on System Restore Settings
Click on the drive if you have more than one
    Click Settings
    adjust the slider to suit[/list:u]
If you have extra drives, which you don't usually need monitored, make sure that they're turned off through
their Settings dialogue box. Otherwise you'll gobble up more GBs than necessary.

What's happening? Try to upload small GIF file - smaller than the maximum allowed and I get this terrifying string of messages:

7  Windows XP Assistance / Internet and Networking / IE 7 on: February 07, 2006, 07:42:44 PM
I received a CNet newsletter this morning telling me that once you've installed IE7 you can't get IE6 back
Just in case anyone out there is under this sad misapprehension and wants to remove it, you just go to Start/Control Panel/Add/Remove Programs, ensure that Show Updates is checked, remove IE7 and bingo!
IE6 is back.
8  Windows XP Assistance / General Problems / Fix Favicons on: February 07, 2006, 06:40:44 PM
There's a great little PC Magazine Utility called FavOrg available here:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Bookmark-Managers/favorg.shtml
It zips through your Favorites in a couple of minutes, restores all favicons from the original sites and tags lost, moved and invalid links.
cheers,
