1  Windows XP Assistance / Multimedia, Audio, Video / Windows Media Player 10 on: September 21, 2007, 03:02:19 AM
:glupek2:Using XP ad Windows Media player 10, I've got problems - I try to play anything and I get -

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem
with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed  on
your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not
be functioning properly.

In control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices Properties, the Volume tab reads: "No Audio Device"
the Audio tab reads: under Sound Playback - Default Device (pale gray) No Playback Device - Sound Recording - (pale gray)  No Recording Devices - MIDI music playback - Default - (pale gray) No MIDI Playback Devices. Voice tab reads: Voice Playback - Default Device - (pale gray) No Playback Devices - Voice Recording (pale gray) No Recording Device.  cry2  I had all of these things yesterday . . .  My machine was giving me a lot of grief (nothing to do with the sound card) and it wanted me to run windows Setup again - Welllllll  When you are up to your fanny in alligators, you forget the original plan was to drain the swamp!  I'm not sure when the sound went, but I'd like to know if there is a way, save taking it to the shop, I can see where the problem is?  it just CAME from the shop !
