I've just had a zone alarm alert re the above programme, but can't find any information on Googgle about it. I have denied access but would like to know what it is
Sorry, forget that.I've just found out it is a new addition to my McAfee anti virus programme
I had this problem a while back, and always when Outlook Express was running. After downloading a non-critical update for it I haven't had any trouble since, so maybe try looking at Microsolft updates?
ooooooohhh!!! what am I doing, trying to give advice
welcome fifeflyer, hope you'll enjoy yourself with us. I'm barely computer literate and certainly claim to know nothing about their innards, but I have got enough sense to know where to come for advice when I'm stuck
The Sky invite is free for 2gb, £5 for 40gb,and £10 for unlimited, this is for existing customers of course. Since I don't download music or videos I'm hoping to scrape in for free, but I do browse a lot so maybe not.
I am thinking of changing my internet provider, we've just had a letter from Sky about their new service which interests us since we are already big users of their tv package.
I need to know how much I use the internet to determine which band to go for so wondered if there was a programme which will count this for me?
I want to take notice of Dave's invitation to look at the first page instead of logging straight into the forum, but everything I click on there gets me a pop up saying I have 9 messages. Okay I onlyhave to click on cancel to get rid of it, but it is a nuisance. Can something be done your end to get rid of it?
PS. I was looking for the article with a link to the rummy game?
Try this, Create a new folder somewhere then open your cd in Windows Explorer, Select All (Control +A) then Copy (Control + C). Then navigate to the new folder you created and Paste (Control + P)
A couple of months ago when I was looking to free up some space, I copied the contents of 'my pictures' to a cd then deleted them from the computer.
Although they appear on the cd just as they were in 'my pictures' all neatly in folders and named where they were taken etc, when I copied them back into the computer recently they were just numbered 1 - 600
I really don't want to have to go through and rename them all, so please can someone tell me how to put them back onto the computer just as they are in the cd?
I've had an e mail from VNUnet offering a registry booster system scan. Could the team please advise whether this is of any use, is it worthwhile doing? My desktop is 5 years old but is not giving me any problems apart from the occasional restart, and I am really of the opinion 'if it aint broke don't fix it' but they say '94% of PC's have corrupt and unused registry data that may cause slowdowns or crashes, check yours now'
I had mine set to download updates automatically Don, but it didn't download the validation tool. It seems you have to agree to that one separately, and it stops all automatic updates until you do
