82  Windows XP Assistance / Internet and Networking / site problem on: October 01, 2005, 01:27:41 PM
I have three choices of screen resolution:

800 x 600   1024x 768  and 1280x 1024

I have it set on 1024 x 768 and should mention I have never had any problem on any other web site but this one.

When I was trying to sort it out with the site, the resolution that was mentioned (I forget what it was) wasn't one that was available to me.

Looks like I might just have to put up with it :'(
83  Windows XP Assistance / Internet and Networking / site problem on: October 01, 2005, 08:57:30 AM
There is a site I use quite often which drives me potty because the 'panel' (for want of a better word) on the left hand side of the screen bounces about all the time.  The only way I can get to the options after half way down is by tabbing.

I have been in conversation with the site by e mail about this, and they say it is my monitor settings which are responsible, but I have been totally unable to sort it out.

Can someone please visit http://www.dialanexchange.com/home.asp for me and tell me if you have the same problem.

Any solutions you may have to suggest will be gladly tried

Oh lol, I thought you meant remove the bit that says 'microsoft internet explorer provided by...'

Ahh, that's what's meant by branding.  I don't get that anyway, just Microsoft Internet Explorer.

I wonder if it will like being called fudgem? or will it stop work in protest?

LOL Fudgem, all it takes is a simple registry edit.

No I think you misunderstood Floydoid.  I really wanted to know what was the point of changing 'Internet Explorer' into something like 'cornflakes'

Is it a security thing or what? :?

don't think I'm being funny, I'm genuinely interested.  Why would I want to do that?

I downloaded the new version of Zone alarm, which I have been using for a long time, but the latest version would not work.  Said something like, "validation failed, probably missing a root file"

After three attempts I gave up, deleted it and went back to the previous version.  I did let zone labs know why I was uninstalling it but have heard no more from them.

Anyone else had this experience? :(
