See my sticky I have just posted on general forum.
Don,
Thanks for that, but the one Kate has suggested is Firefox specific, hence the interest.
What is SpellBound? SpellBound is a port of the spellchecker code and user interface from the Mozilla Suite's Composer that enables spell checking in web forms such as html textarea / input elements (html input password elements are not checked by SpellBound) and rich text form elements. This allows you to spell check forms (e.g. message board posts, blog entries, wysiwyg, etc.) before submitting them when using your Mozilla Firefox or Mozilla Suite browser.
I can create a group and those that want this function can be added. So all the regulars can edit delete....and it keeps this function from being available to everyone.
How does that sound?
Jason,
Just create a group for anyone that whinges. Put them all in there and leave them to it!
Seriously - I don't think that's a good idea. Just leave the edit function out - people will soon get used to it.
Whatever you guys decide is fine by me. I've been longest on one forum where you can't edit once you've previewed and posted. Not a serious problem, you can always post another as a correction if necessary.
Now a spell checker - that would be a first. Can you do it?
The first thing to try is booting up to the Safe Mode menu. Press F8 repeatedly as it starts up, and when you get the menu choose the option to "use last known good configuration".
If that doesn't resolve the problem, then the question must be, did you do anything before this happened? Virus or spyware removal?
You could also start in Safe Mode and use System Restore to take it back to a point before the the problems appeared.
This is just a suggestion - but if you think it's good .....
You want to see more tech support requests on here? So why not make the support panel top of the home page rather than the chat section. At the moment, the focus is on chat and banter - which has been a real laugh. But, if the chat was down the bottom of the opening page, then maybe it might shift the focus?
When you want to view the last post on a thread, all you have to do is click on the arrowhead icon next to the last poster's name. That will take you to the last post in the thread. No need to scroll through all the posts.
If you want to read through all the posts in a thread, then a higher amount of posts on view will mean less times having to click on "next page".
The only people with a problem are those on dial-up, but they would suffer either way.
