I am thinking of changing my internet provider, we've just had a letter from Sky about their new service which interests us since we are already big users of their tv package.

I need to know how much I use the internet to determine which band to go for so wondered if there was a programme which will count this for me? yathink

I haven't tested a program, but there's online calculators you can try:

http://www.webuser.co.uk/bandwidthcalculator.php

http://www.uswitch.com/Broadband/Our-Broadband-Calculator.html

There is Netmeter, as I say, I've not tried it:

And you might like to explore this site:

Plusnet have just started a new scheme, Phone and broadband together, one scheme is  240mins a month included for UK numbers, plus broadband at 8mb (I think) for £25 99 a month or thereabouts and that includes line rental.
all sorts of packages available.

The Sky invite is free for 2gb, £5 for 40gb,and £10 for unlimited, this is for existing customers of course.  Since I don't download music or videos I'm hoping to scrape in for free, but I do browse a lot so maybe not.

Thanks for the links Dave
