Windows Media PLayer does not connect to Media Guide or to the Windows Media online artist information database.
If you find you never connect to WindowsMedia.com and that Windows Media Player is consistently unable to download track information for your CDs, even when you know you have a functioning internet connection, you might have inadvertently set the program to stay offline.
To see if this is the case, open the File menu. If Work Offline is checked, choose this command to clear the check mark and go back online.
