Article: Remove `Links` from your Favorites
  If you are like me and hate having the “links” listed in your favorites and have tried the delete method, only to have it reappear when you restart your computer.  You can remove it permanently by doing the following:

Before beginning this guide, please do this

  Navigate to the following key:
  HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerToolbar
   


 
 
  From the right hand side, locate LinksFolderName, double click on it and delete the value
   


 
 
   


 
 
  Now, exit Regedit, and locate and delete the links folder (Right Click on the Start Button, select Explore , then on the left you should see Favorites, click on it and locate the folder Links and click delete)
   


 
 
   Reboot your computer.
