Article: Speed Up Start Menu
  If you ever notice that when you click on your start button, that it takes Windows XP awhile to open the menu, you’ll want to follow this guide.  Please note: typically when you notice a rather large slowdown, that it means that you are running low on system memory.


 


  or by using another method.   Modify the registry at your own risk, Every effort has been made to ensure that registry edit instructions are correct and safe.  FixMyXP cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your system by using this guide.

  Before beginning this guide, please do this

    Navigate to the following key:
  HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop
   


         {mosypn center}
On the Right Hand Side, locate the key named MenuShowDelay, then double click on it, then change the value of MenuShowDelay to a lower value (0-400, a setting of 0, for some people, is to fast….for this guide I chose 100 but feel free to choose any value between 0 and 400)
   


 
 
   Click OK and Reboot
