Article: Firefox Fix For The Copy-Paste Problem Here is how to fix the copy-paste problem with Firefox. If you have this problem you already know what I'm talking about. If you are not sure if you have this problem try to highlight text in Firefox, then try to copy it. If you get an error, then you have this problem.

Here is how you fix this:
First thing, you need to make sure that you have hidden files and folders unhidden. To do this:
Click
Start, then
My Computer. Click on
Tools then
Folder Options. On the
View tab check mark
Show Hidden Files and Folders , and uncheck
Hide Extensions For Known File Types then Click
Apply Now, click
Start then
My Computer then navigate to
C:Documents and Settings{YOUR USERNAME}Application DataMozillaFirefoxProfiles
In that folder you should see a folder with letters for it's name. Mine was named,
dwu187zl.default although yours may be something different. Open this folder.
In this folder you should find a file named
user.js Right-Click on this file and click "Open With", then "Choose Program..."
Then from the list of programs, select
WordPad Click Ok, and you should see something similar to this (if it's blank don't worry)
Then Add the following to the bottom of this file:
user_pref("capability.policy.default.Clipboard.cutcopy", "allAccess");
user_pref("capability.policy.default.Clipboard.paste", "allAccess");
like this:
Then click Save. Then Reboot. Problem Solved.
[Note: upgrading to Firefox v1.5 also fixes this problem]
