Wow,

Microsoft allowed downloads of Build 5536, begining two days ago.   They were going to allow a total of 100,000 downloads, and I just checked and they have reached that number.   Kind of hard to believe...

Check It Out Here:

Lucky for me, I downloaded this yesterday...  glupek2

If you download Vista, do you then become part of a community that gives feedback to Microsoft?

Also, do you get the final release at some kind of discount?

These are public beta's so while you can give Feedback to MS if you want,  you are not required to.     And no, you don't get a discount on the final release (I wish...)

Is there a timelimit on using the beta, I mean if it is any good why bother to then buy the real one, or if is not good why bother to download it?

The Beta has some bugs in it still, it is nearing completion so it should have very few bugs... The reason I wanted to get it, was to try it out.  I didn't want to install it on a hard drive that I was using (just in case Vista had a serious error and I ended up losing all data on the hard drive, since it is a new hard drive and has nothing on it).

The license that we get when we download and install the Beta will be expiring, when it does, we lose Vista.  That is why we cannot simply use the Beta version forever...
