This Topic Room looked naked, so I thought I would start it off...

Internet Speed...

Back when Windows XP first came out (2001), we were still in the days of dial up.  Now, of course, we have broadband and dsl.

Windows XP default settings were designed with Dial Up Speeds in mind. So on a freshly installed system, if you have DSL or Broadband, the default internet settings would in fact be a hinderence.  The settings that should automatically be changed on a fresh install are:

1)  In Internet Settings, change the History from '20' to '0'
2) In Temporary Internet Files, click on Settings and change the amount of disk space used to 20MB-80MB.

These changes greatly improve speeds for DSL and Broadband....

What other methods do you use to boost your internet speed?..

Well, for one. It depends on the browser you use. Yes, of course people will choose Opera or FireFox. but I'm still an IE user so without saying... I'm a IE based browser user in gen.

To make things simple here. I recommand Maxthon or AOL Explorer at the most of my testing. There are however many ways to boost your Internet but I don't really know how to. I've just heard there are tons of ways of doing it. Good luck on the tips guys

You may want to look into MTU tweaks:
