And another one...
To open explorer in the classic view (i.e. with C:\ expanded as in win 9x), create a shortcut with path:
explorer.exe /e,C:\
I find this most useful as I tend to live and die in windows explorer. :P

OR--
did you mean to set up your Explorer in Classic View all the time?
If so, go to "tool", "Folder Options", "General Tab", "Tasks" and put the Radio button in "Use Windows Classic Folders".
Now, to go directly to an expanded Explorer View, eliminating clicking on "My Compurer", I just use the keyboard shortcut {Windows Key-E}. It won't open a specific drive but who always goes to C:\ anyway?
Like the previous reply, I also live in Windows Explorer as I have 3 physical SATA hard drives, with partitions up to K:\ plus an external Hard Drive L:\.
Try {Windows Key-E} - you might like it.
