Try pressing F8 as it boots up. This will bring up the screen for Safe Mode plus other options.
See what happens if you choose to "Start using last known good configuration".

I am willing to bet that this is a Resolution issue. What I think is happening is that you have your Resolution set to something that your monitor can handle.
So try this, like Squeezebox said Tap F8 while booting then choose SAFE MODE from the advanced startup list.
Safe Mode will set your resolution to a setting that your monitor can handle. Then when in safe mode go into your display controls (Control Panel then Display) then on the Settings tab change your screen resolution then Apply and Reboot

Despite you having the same happen with two different monitors, it could still be due to resolution settings.
Try in Safe Mode - do they work OK?
If not, try the Last Known Good Configuration option.

Sorry, but it's difficult to help you when you aren't making it clear what you have done. Could you copy and Paste the questions below and then type 'yes' or 'no' alongside as your answer.
Have you tried starting Safe Mode?
Did your display work OK in Safe Mode?
Did you try Last Known Good Configuration?
If you were able to start in Safe Mode, did you change the resolution?

OK, looks like you've done the right things.
Now, what resolution did you set it to?
Flat screen or CRT monitor?
Is it working now?

How are you reading the posts?

How is the Monitor powered?
Does it take its power from the PCs Power Supply? or Does it plug direct into a household AC socket?
I could be wrong..but...it seems to me that your monitor is powered from the AC socket and you are not switching the power on to the monitor.
Your posts are somewhat confusing, are you a politician by any chance?

Any possibility that power options set to turn monitor off after short time-know this should not happen-just asking ?? Other thing is cracked solder joints on monitor circuit boards, causes monitor to work when cold but shuts off when hot. (this happened to me)
