Hi all. I am new to this forum. Just registered today.

I was just wondering what these are? "Microsoft Compression Client Pack 1.0 for Windows XP" and also "MSXML SP4 (KB927978)" I downloaded them last month with all the other updates. I have already been on the Microsoft website and the explanations means nothing to me.

I am using XP Pro with SP2 and also windows media player 11 and ie7.

Can I safely uninstall them?

Thanks for the help

The Compression Client is related to WMP 11. You can roll back to an earlier version of WMP, instructions and other information is here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/readme.aspx

IE7 can be removed in Add/Remove Programs, your system should revert back to IE6.

Thanks for the reply. I don't really want to roll back to the old IE6 or WMP 10. I just wanted to know what those two programs were. I found them in add/remove and wonders if I can uninstall them. But you say they are part of WMP 11 so I will leave them alone.
Thanks again for the quick response.
