first time here.

I had a nice desk top backround. Now when I boot up all I get is a blue backround.
I know the original is still there because when I shut down it pops up.

I can't right click on any of the desk top themes because they're dimmed now

System restore works fine but it's always returning to a blue back round

Any ideas?

TRY THIS FIRST:

Go to the Properties box then the Desktop tab.
Click "Customize Desktop" and then click the "Web" tab.
Make sure "Lock Desktop Items" is unchecked.

Or, if that doesn't work... try this (this worked on another wallpaper display issue I recently worked on)

Click Start, then Run, then type   regedit and hit enter.

Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

If you see a key named:  "Wallpaper" or "Wallpaper Style"   

Delete it and all should be well...

JV16 is the old registry cleaner (free version) which has now been replaced by the shareware version, can't remember what that is called now.  I have a link on my site
