My computer is nearly "full up" in as much as there is very little space left.
I think I need to remove some programs that I don't need but when going to Add/Remove I get "Can't open the installation log file".
Is there another way to remove these programs? (I use the term programs loosely because to me they are not real programs but "Casino software downloads") yquestion

Let's get some space reclaimed first:

You might need to remove some data first - back up to external media like CD or flash drive.

Delete any temp files.

Clear internet cache.

Use Disk Cleanup to help with removing temp files etc. Let it remove as much as possible.

Empty the Recycle Bin.

After you've done all of the above, then it might need an investigation using HijackThis. Essexboy is our resident expert on that, so he will probably be your advisor when we get that far.

I suspect that you may have some unwanted guests if you have Casino software installed .......

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.

Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browser
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All

NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browser
Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.

That's a handy cleaner Essexboy, I've downloaded it myself.
You don't even need to install it, just run it.

Dave... Thank you for your suggestions. I have deleted temp files, internet cache and emptied the recycle bin. I have also copied a load of files onto CD's and then deleted those files.

My computer has a total of 19.4 gb and I was down to 1.32 gb of free space. However, after the above deletions I now have 2.76 gb of free space.

Essexboy...Thank you for your suggestion, I am off now to download ATF Cleaner and have a clean up.
I have run a Hijackthis scan and the report is below:

Your log loks clean but ewido is no more and is sadly out of date.  My current favourite free antispyware is SuperAntispyware available here http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag=GOOGLE-SUPERANTISPYWARE
