Sending emails
«
on:

I am having problems sending email from (incredimail - OE and Thunderbird).
OE and Incredimail are giving the message that they cannot connect to SMTP server 193 252 22 187 Port 25
and in Thunderbird it says it cannot connect to the server.
I have noticed that the emails in Incredimail outbox do go out eventually.
Any ideas please - Incredimail have been trying to solve this one for a month now.

I have googled on this one and it appears that certain ISPs are blocking Port 25 to cut down on spam - which unfortunately does not help me sending emails.
Fortunately (or unfortunately) I am going on holiday tomorrow and will try to get it sorted out when I get back.

If it's only to certain ISP's that you are getting the problem, then it may be bcause your own ISP has been blobked as a source of spam. You can take it up either with your own ISP or the ISP of the intended recipient.
Either way, some more details will be needed for us to suggest any solutions, such as failure messages generated by undeliverable mail.
Or, are you saying that your own ISP is either blocking you from accessing their server, or you simply cannot connect to your mail server?

Sorry to be so late in coming back - I had forgotten I had posted it!!!!!
Seems the problem is with Orange as its also now affecting my Outlook Express and apparently I am not on my own.
Have emailed and written to Orange - not bothering with a phone call and am awaiting a reply.

You may want to see if you can send/receive over the SSL encrypted mail ports, I had a similar issue with my cable company, they killed 25, but opened up other SSL Ports and neglected to inform me, or anyone else for that matter.
