Start-up freeze

Hey.
When i start my comp the usual progs starts, then they freeze and explorer freeze to, so i need to ctrl+alt+del click and close explorer.exe and run it again.
Does anyone know what to do to stop this ??

Next time this happens, when you hit ctrl+alt+del go to the task manager and look to see if a process is eating your CPU (70+%) cycles.
If it is please post the name of the process. There's a known issue with SVCHOST.EXE that appears to lock up your computer.
If a process is locking you up we may be able to help

Something else to try.
XP is known for conflicts as programs in startup try to access memory all at the same time. This is because XP insists on trying to launch them all at the same time.
Try installing Startup Delayer
http://www.r2.com.au/software.php?page=2&show=startdelay
Once installed, spread your startup programs so that they are 1 or 2 seconds apart. You might find this will stop the freezes.

When i do that, svchost.exe is there. 3 of them. but they are not using CPu, juust memory. . .

So SVCHOST is not your issue. Good. I think Squeezebox is most likely correct then follow him.
