Hey all. I just install a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router. Every so often when I'm browsing, I get the dialog box pops that I used to use to connect to my DSL (which I don't need now since the router does it for me).

This happens with both Firefox and IE, and it happens when I already have full connectivity. I imagine there's some browser setting I need to change.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

In IE go to Tools/Internet Options/Connection and set it to 'never dial a connection'.

In FF, Tools/Options/Advanced/Network/Settings - it should be 'Direct Connection ...'

You could also go to your network connections and delete your old connection if it's still there.

Thanks Squeezbox, I just made the fix in IE, but Firefox was already set to "Direct Connection..." Any idea why firefox would be doing this?

Now you've fixed it in IE you may find that FF stops doing that.

The best 'treatment' is to get rid of your old network connection.
