I have an Asrock K7541GX motherboard and want to know how to reset the bios password. I just cannot remember the original password ! In fact I dont even remember creating a password ! Now I need to upgrade my hard drives and when i try to get into the Bios setup it asks for a password.   Someone told me that there is a link on the m/b that requires a jumper ?  Does anyone know the procedure to clear the password ?

There are two ways - one find a backdoor password, second - remove the CMOS battery. If you remove the battery, all bios settings will be lost and need resetting.

Okay guys,  I found the way to clear the Bios password !  This must be done With the power cord disconnected. There is a solder link on the m/b which is shorted together for 3 seconds. The link is identified by `cmos1clr`  and it worked. On power up the Bios warns that a cmos checksum error has occured and then loads the default values.
Many thanks for your input ! Everything in the garden is now perfect.....
