Windows Vista Is Supposed to Be More Reliable

I know they say it, on every version of Windows...but here is what Microsoft is saying with Regards to Reliablility
"Windows Vista detects hardware problems before they occur; reduces the frequency of incidents in which applications stop responding or the PC needs to be restarted; and automatically recovers from startup and service failures. How do you benefit? No data loss, no frustration, and no downtime."
While it makes sens that each version of windows should become faster and more reliable, we will see....
I for one would like to think that Microsoft would have a very polished product. I mean, they did make us wait for this version of windows, longer than they ever have before.
And I pray that this isn't another "Windows Millenium". I still have nightmares about that version.....

Hi what I have been following and reading they are doing their best to get it right if not perfect.
I for one will be ordering it as soon as it is released to the general public.
Just as long as it works with yahoo messenger as well as msn messenger and my antivirus I shall be more than happy.

I really hope that they get all the bugs worked out before Vista comes out. Microsoft has had a checkered past when it comes to problems related to new releases (remember Windows ME, or more recently XP SP2). This time, they won't have as much of an excuse since this is the longest period of time without having a new version of windows. XP came out in 2001, Vista will be 2006....5 years.
I really like XP though, and while I will be getting Vista right away, I am aprehensive about it. I guess it's the whole, aspect of "Change".

Hi not getting at anyone but if when people read through how to install at the moment windows xp, and listerned when anyone gives them advice, or how to go and solve the problem, i have seen sometime when you give advice it has been 100% right and i always read your posts with interest, have again asked and when someome else who come on and posts, who has admin rights, they believe them but not you or me yet what they have told them, has been the same.
Between you and me i have had people e-mail me privately because when i have tried to help them i have got over ruled, and when they have tried the way i have told them found it worked.
The same is going to be with vista that is why i am reading up on it on everything i can find, also got a mate who works for microsoft over here in uk, and he lets me know what is going on.
Anyway keep up the good work and lets have some more people join your forum.

Yes, I totally agree with you. There were quite a few times on "other boards" which will remain nameless, where I felt... "put in my place" by an admin. I began to feel as if, some of those people, were acting almost like I automatically was not supposed to know something they didn't. People would get arguementative and nit pick petty things...
I have been going in spurts, on those other boards. I really am trying to increase my sites number of users, but to do so, I have to go to some of those other boards and recruit, show my knowledge.... So I go on regularly for a few weeks, ...then I usually get to a point where I just get fed up with the BS and then I stop going to those forums for awhile. There are a few people, who are awesome and very encouraging (you being one of them, thanks!) , so, it's not all bad. But it does have it's moments...
On a separate note, I am thinking about using Mambo Content Management, in my site (or some other Content Management, such as PHP Nuke, or ZOOPS), are you familiar with these, and if so, do you think going to one would help increase my traffic and number of users?
