crazy mouse
«

I just installed a new Gigaware mouse to replace the old one.
This mouse has a mind of its own. Without me touching it the ponter will take off and either go to the upper right hand corner or the lower left. I went to the control panel but I can't figure out what to do.
Any suggestions?
thanks in advance

Did you install any software or drivers that came with the new mouse?
If you have, go to Control Panel, Mouse and just check that all the settings are as you want them.
If it's an optical mouse, it can be affected by a mouse mat or a reflective surface. Try it on plain surface, even a sheet of paper from your printer.

i'm back.
this crazy mouse is still flying all over the place. It's really starting to get to me.
The control panel for the mouse does nothing to correc the problem
I even tried to find a gigaware web site but no luck.

After searching, it looks like the product support from Gigaware is next to nothing. Nor can I find any drivers for the mouse.
You could try downloading drivers for either a MS or Logitech optical mouse and see if they work any better.
Check underneath the mouse - look for anything stuck in the small hole where the optical laser is.
You could also consider returning the mouse to the supplier as faulty.
Finally - perhaps get a different make of mouse?
