Hi all,
I can not get Windows Media Player to automatically save songs to its library.

I have downloaded a number of songs from a file sharing medium (emule) so obviously these songs are automatically saved into an emule incoming file.  When I request to play the song it plays in WMV and will play again if I select it.
However, if I delete the song file from the emule incoming folder WMV is no longer able to locate the file.
Basically what I want is, for every song I play from any folder on my computer to automatically save to the WMV library/ file.
I had it set up like this before so there is obviously just something simple wrong but alas I havent a clue.

THANKS!!!!!!

What I think you'll find is that files are not saved to WMP.
All that happens is that WMP links to the files.
So if you delete the files WMP can't find them.
Do you not put your downloaded music into your "my music" folder?
I think you'll find this is true to all music players they just link to the files.
Can you imagine what it would be like if you had half a dozen players all storing the files?
Your hard drive would fill up in no time at all.
I have over 25gb of music on my PC.
So if WMP stored it,winamp stored it,real player stored it.
My drive would have no room left.
I hope all your files are non copy write,it's very naughty to share copy write files. ybiggrin

Cheers Malvachat!!!
Ok so, If I cant automatically save them to WMV can I save them manually.
I would like to do these because it is easier to manage my music.
Of course everything Im doing is legit, silly question.....

You can have WMP look to any location for music files that are in your Library. To establish where your library files are, right-click on any track in the listings and look at its properties. The file path will be shown.

Any music file you want to keep in the library needs to be saved into the folders where WMP is looking.

You can monitor any folder to automatically add music into the library too. Go to Tools/Options and click on the Library tab. Then use the Browse button in the section to automatically monitor a folder. Select the folder you want to monitor. (Typically this will be 'My Music')
