My room mates computer running XP Professional was working fine last night and this morning will boot up, give a screen saying we are sorry, Windows was unable to boot properly - options are continue to safe mode, safe mode with network, last working configuration and normal (I've tried them all) then to the windows logo then go to a black screen.  

Tried booting into the safe mode, it runs a list of commands and locks up.

Tried booting off the CD and could get to the recovery console, did a fix boot, bootconfg /rebuild..........

I know that my roomie removed some games from his computer last night was having some problems and used an uninstall program that my son put on there (I'm not sure which one).

My guess is he screwed up some drivers but my poor head just can't seem to come up with a solution.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
