Hi,

I have an issue with an Excel spreadsheet in XP. The PC in use is on a network at work and the spreadsheet in use is on the network and is accessed by many people. The sheet opens fine but when you come to save it, it hangs for ages and you then have to forcefully quit it through task manager. I have tried re installing Office twice with two different versions, the most recent being office 2003 which has made no difference. I have tried logging in as someone else to see if the problem was with the permissions to the file, that didn't make any difference i still couldn't save. I have checked that all the XP usdates have been downloaded and installed, which they have.

The problem is with this one file only, no one else has isues with it, and I can access any other Excel spreadsheet normally and save normally. The only real difference with this particualr file is that it is very large and contains pivot tables.

I am a bit stuck at this point and it is causing me problems at work. Can any one offer any advice please?

Many thanks

Nick

Maybe time to call in your IT department??

I would suspect one of these:
Hard drive space (virtual memory)
Memory problems
The file is the problem (despite others not getting the same)
Other software that is running - such as antivirus
