i can either reinstall it through the modified version or uninstall it copletely and reinstall the program again.
If I unintall it will i lose all of my files?

I can't even find the missing DLL on the web.

Uninstalling and reinstalling or repair installs won't affect any files you have as data, they will still be there. If you are using Lotus Organiser, I would recommend you create a copy of your organiser file just in case.

It's been a few years since I had the full Lotus Smartsuite installed and from what I remember, it's a bit of a beast to tame to how you want it to behave.

You can tame it though - but you are going to have to nose around settings etc to find out, I can't help.

There is an alternative, and this is what I did. I only wanted to install the word processor, the spreadsheet and Organizer. So I chose custom install and didn't install the whole smartsuite.

You could go to add/remove programs and remove the elements you don't want/need. Might solve it for you.

Or you could go to Start/Run and type 'msconfig'. Deselect anything that is in the startup list that you don't want running.
