when I minimise or go back to the desktop to open a different web site, the new site takes over the previous web page. I have to use the back button to review the original web page.

This means I only have one window open at a time - defeating the object of Windows.

The only thing that has changed recently is a new broadband connection and Norton. Any thoughts out there? Is this an easy fix?

Assuming you are using Internet Explorer 7, you can change the way it behaves in Tools/Internet Options/General - and look at the settings for tabs.

Most browsers will just open a new page in place of the one that is currently showing, so making use of tabs is a good idea.

You can right-click on a web page link and select 'open in new tab' to keep the orignal page open.

You can open a new tab by clicking on the appropriate button,  then go to a completely new page/favourite etc.

Tabbed browsing is much better than a new window of Internet Explorer.

You can't do this with IE6, so you might want to update if you haven't already or you could consider either Firefox or Opera to use alongside IE.
