Hi everyone.

I'm having some problems with my Windows Media Player. For any type of media file, I get the same error message, that there is an unspecified module missing. The Microsoft page sometimes says error code 8007007E, or error code C00D11B1. The sound card still works, and I am able to watch flash files. And I don't think the error is directly involved with WMP since the error occurs on both WMP 9 and 11.

Mostly I'm an idiot and deleted a file out of the registry  (trying to fix a seperate problem which I took care of, then this came up..)

Thank you

Have you tried a system restore?

alright I figured it out so I can guess this thread can be closed.

After a lot of guessing and scewing around, "quartz.dll" was at some point unregistered. So I registered it using the command prompt and everything is A-ok.
