Got the computer reformatted. The problem has not gone ( the games problem) and the internet speed is slow, slower than a snail. Celebrating my 100th post.

160 GB SATA II HD
1.0 GB RAM
Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor
I don't think there is a graphics card, but there is a graphics accelerator in my system.

You shouldn't be experiencing any slowness with that - maybe it's worth downloading a memory tester and checking out the memory is OK.

I've used MemTest86 in the past, it's high on the list in a Google search.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=memory+tester&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

You could try the MS one (first in the list).

You will have to read instructions carefully to install on a CD or floppy, then boot with the disk in place. Let the test run for a few passes to be thorough.

If I want to use MS windiag, should I let it run overnight?

MemTest86 - from their page

Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)

OR

Download - Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win)

Read the instructions on the web site.

You could leave it running over night if you wanted, I would run it during the day though - to keep an eye on things. Plus I prefer to shut everything down at night.

Hi Kabith,

Hope you're still around - the site is back up now.

In order for you to load Memtest at startup (bootup) you may need to change the boot order in BIOS. Make the order to be either floppy drive or cd drive - depending on what you have put Memtest onto.
