One thing you could try is LSP-Fix.

Download:
http://www.cexx.org/LSPFix.exe

Just open the program then select "Finish". Lets us know if the "Repair Summary" shows any removals or re-numbering. Although it's likely you wouldn't be able to connect to the internet at all if the problem was due to the LSP chain. Plus you followup HJT log did not show any LSP errors. It can't hurt to try it though.

Did that Cache, and got to here but these seem like legitimate programs. Should I just leave alone?

Do NOT change anything. Just click "Finish", then tell us what the "Repair Summary" sez.

Nothing wrong with the LSP chain then. I'm trying to think of a possible solution but coming up short.

I actually think its all sorted thanks to all. Those deskmates came wtih lots of crap I reckon, and the use of the various programs recommended above has found a few nasties lurking about in the incompetant component corridors of my system. Anyway think I'm clean. Thanks always for your unselfish time!

Hi Strum,

I take it that you can now access all sites in any browser?

Reading through, the only difference is that you found one more dodgy file (after the clean up with HJT etc) and removed it.

I see you were up to the small hours trying.

This is worth keeping  so letting everyone know that now being locked to stop it from being hi-jacked. this will make it a read only to help others.

Premature locking there Don - need confirmation from Strum that the problems are all resolved.

It will then need to be split, moved and given an appropriate title.

I've unlocked until both Strum & Cache have commented.

Thank you for the unlocking Dave. No same thing. I go to a certain site log in and get "page cannot be displayed" dio exactly the same thing with firefox and I sign in no bother...???gotta be some setting in IE somewhere...still lost, but not too bothered as firefox can do it for me.
Thanks for the input! AND taking the jailers keys off Don.

Well I'm pretty much spent on this one. The only things I can think of now would just be clutching at straws and probably wont help.

Things such as:

Restoring defualts for the "Advanced", "Privacy", and "Security" tabs in IE options.

Disconnect from the internet, uninstall your firewall, enable the Windows firewal, connect to the internet and try these sites again.

If your ISP gave you a setup disk when you first joined try re-installing that. Although this really would be clutching at straws and I don't really recommend trying this untill everything under the sun had been seen not to work.

I've just had another thought. It might be worth creating a new user profile and see if that has the same problems (or not).
