Batch file Virus!

OK, so not really but AVG Free thinks it is. I was tryin' some Win98 restart command on my XP machine to see what would happen, ran the batch file and AVG pops up tellin' me I have a virus!...it was the bach file I just created lol.
If anyone want's to try, here is the content of the batch file:
START C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE user.exe,exitwindowsexec
BTW, there is nothing malicious about it, it doesn't even work (restart the comp) lol.
This is the second time one of my batch files has made an antivirus through a false positive. I think the first time was with Trend Micro's Housecall, the batch file I made that time was to delete Windows and IE temp files.
EDIT: If you have AVG installed, refresh on this page and see what happens lol. YOU DO
NOT
HAVE A VIRUS! it's a false positive.

Does no-on on here use AVG then? I thought a lot of people would be using it. Also, I've emailed AVG about this. I image they will fix it with the next few definition releases.

Ehh... I use Avast
I once tried AVG and ran into update problems. I think to me that AVG misses some scanning in some areas and plus there not that many options when removing a virus.

The main reason I use AVG is it's loading time at system start-up is so fast. I never really get Viruses anyway, so I'm not too bothered about how it performs. I just get second opinion scans from on-line scanners every now and then. Plus it's always fun to have a stubborn Virus every now and then.

lol, thats true. Avast is pretty fast on start-up as well but I'd have to say AVG is on the top. But Avast is better at keeping your computer safe from viruses. Avast even has shields and thats something AVG does not have :wavey:

Are you sneakily trying to start an argument about antivirus programs? lol. I'm sure Avast is very good, yes. You must be proud.

Well, I'm just saying I like avast better. I've gone through Norton and let me say I hated it. The scanning took forever. Norton used too much memory. So... then I went to free stuff and found Avast to be the best for me. People have there likes and dislikes.

I've used them both at different times [avast & avg] and I must say I never notice any diffference in start up times.

You would know better then me. I just came from Norton System Works before AVG. Anything is better than Norton at startup lol. I might give that Avast a try some time then.
Is it any good?

Personally, I would always recommend NOD32 as the best AV software.
It's not free, and is a bit more involved for configuring, but it's lean and mean with the best test results in the world.
That and Zone Alarm - perfect.

Well, I got a reply from AVG. They have no intention of fixing this false positive.
Here is the e-mail they sent me:
Quote
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your email.
We are sorry about this issue but this file is often used by script virus. The virus puts this file into the Windows startup script and the computer is then still rebooting and that`s why AVG detect this file.
If you want to use this file, you can make some exception in AVG. Then AVG won`t check this file. You can use the next steps to do it:
/* Insert instructions here */
Best regards,
Karel Stavik
AVG Technical Support
I removed the instructions to keep the post size down.
I don't think they even know it also effect browser cache files. I've sent them another e-mail saying about the problem with web pages containing the code, suggesting they publicly announce this as an issue
