Friends: I have just installed a Lucent Winmodem (HV90P-T) into my Pentium II computer running Windows Me. I downloaded the latest driver and the modem connects quickly and gives good connection. My problem is that it does not disconnect when a call comes through even though I unchecked DISABLE CALL-WAITING. How can I fix this? I need the modem to disconnect when a call comes through. Thanks.

I'm not an expert on modems, but I suspect that the model you have is V90 technology. You might not be able to get this modem to do what you want. Have a look at the write up here:

Hi there Wakemeafteram, I cannot help you at all there but wait till the "others" wake up and I can almost guarantee that the other loonies around here will get you sorted. Just welcoming you and be patient.

I'm no expert on Dail-Up but I had a modem that gave me the option to  disconnect when a call came through. I also had a program that once a call came in, it would ask me if I wanted to disconnect or not. Very useful program but I forgot where I got it from.
