Hi all, I ran a trial version (heh) of Counterspy tonight and it picked up 7 spywares that none of the usual suspects ie : Ad Aware, Spybot, Spyware Blaster, Microsoft Antispyware aka Giant,  had missed. Make what you want of this information.     Comments ?

Did it offer to fix them only if you bought the programme? If so beware

something like that happened to me aswell, I scanned prior to installation with NoAdware 4 and then i had counterspy give some spies. I think it's false positives or they came with the program. I dont think i even finished their trial.

The simplest way to tell is to manually locate the said files or registry entries the program detected. Only then will you know whether you are dealing with detections or false positives. Also bare in mind that different companies can often have differing opinions on what constitutes worthy additions to their definitions.
