Looks like there is some speculation that Microsoft will soon be announcing another delay in the release of Vista. The release date, now is Mid-2007.

Microsoft denies Windows Vista delay claims
Microsoft has responded to Gartner's observation that Windows Vista is likely to be delayed again, by as much as three months.
The research group, in a note to its clients, claimed that the complexity of the changes for the next-gen Windows operating system meant that Microsoft would struggle to meet its delivery target of November, for the business offering (the consumer editions have already been rolled on to 2007).
The basis for Gartner's position is the amount of feedback that will have to be incorporated following a beta 2 release, which is due imminently. Gartner estimates a nine month window pushes Windows Vista into the April-June quarter of 2007.
Microsoft, however, is having none of it, and insists it is still on target for its publicly stated schedule.
'We respectfully disagree with Gartner's views around timing of the final delivery of Windows Vista,' responded a Microsoft spokesperson. 'We remain on track to deliver Windows Vista Beta 2 this quarter, and to deliver the final product to volume license customers in November 2006 and to other businesses and consumers in January 2007.'
