dxva_sig.txt problem

You guys helped me install all the drivers on my PC which I am very grateful for, but now I have another problem.
Windows Media Player now plays files in very bright, random colours, and it seems everytime I play one I get a dxva_sig.txt file on my desktop. There's nothing in the file and I'm unsure how to get WMP to play videos correctly.
I've done a few searches on Google but I can't find a solution.
Any help is welcomed.
Cheers.

Check this out - about the third or fourth post
http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=9&t=8449
Edit : You need codec 75 you can get a copy here
http://www.codec-download.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=48
Download and extract all files to a temp folder then right click the inf file and select install. As allways before you do anything like this make a restore point first..

I've just done that it hasn't made a difference. Still playing in bright colours. Strange.

Fresh out of ideas at the moment, although I still think it may be a codex problem. I'll mooch around and see what I can find
