Just installed word 2007 in beta will keep you informed how it works and what bugs if any I find.
Used it and what i like is everything comes in toolbars instead of having to go looking through it.
Excel is excellent well laid out.
New look Powerpoint.
New look Access
Interpath.
Diagnostics
Also a great beta backup team that is willing to help you should you run into any problems.

I have to say Don that I have learned a few things recently, one being that I will never install Beta anything again in future!
Cheers!  ysmiley

Strum I know that but I always have a backup, you see all these beta's go onto a seperate disk installed on the computer, I have over 300mb of spare disc and i must say this new word is better than word 2003.

Will keep everyone upto date with what it is like and if i hit any problems.

Aha Don, I forget you have loads of drives and pc's etc to test on... I just have to be careful...

BTW, I lost all my user points in the site upgrade. Does that mean I'll never get the house in Eastbourne?  ycry

Ok update on word 2007.

Working ok no problems I find it easier to set up and this in my opinion is one winner that microsoft has got right first time.

Dave,
All I downloaded was Tools, Access, Excel, Infopath,Outlook, Powerpoint, Publisher.

You may if you have enough room be able to install word 2007 beta as well as works you already have. if you have the disc for works then I would uninstall it and just have word.
You may find that when you start downloading that it will either go over the top of works or inform you that word 2007 cannot be installed.

Dave these listed below I have not downloaded as i do not use them.
Groove 2007?
Sharepoint2007?
Onenote2007?

As Works is a different beast to Office, the two should work side by side but independently of each other. If it doesn't, then the Beta version is a problem.

Hi Don and Dave,
Thanks for the info.
I downloaded the office2007 with Word, Excell etc and installed it. I then found that I could not open any of my documents that were produced using Works WP or Spreadsheets.
As I have the Works 7 disc I completely uninstalled it and ran CCleaner to clear the reg and any other traces of it.
Then I re-installed it but on my E Progs drive, a USB external HD, along side most of my programmes and everything is up and running and no further conflict.
The new chap looks quite good and when I have tried it out for a while I will get back and let you know how I get on with it as a NOVICE.
