Image Have you ever downloaded something and just clicked the OK button without paying attention to where it was being saved? Then you start navigating through your computer looking for the download. After searching for awhile you give up and go back and download the same file. There is a faster way to locate that missing download, here is how...

Note: Click on any image for a larger view of that particular image.

To locate a recent download:

Click backupreg_01.jpg

Then Click findafile1.jpg

When the search utility opens, Click on All Files and Folders

”Click

Then click on When was it modified

Click

then select Specify dates. The default date will pop up as todays date for the Start and End date. Leave that (since we are looking for a download that just occurred).

”Click

Leave the All or Part of the Filename blank and click Search (note that the Look In will default to search all your drives. This is ok, since we you do not know where the download was saved, so searching all drives would be the right option)

”Leave

After the search is done Maximize the window so that you are able to see theDate Modified category

Maximize

Click on Date Modified. This will sort the list by Date. Now, browse through the most recent items and you should find the missing Download
