Use Shortcut Keys to Open Programs Fast

What to access your programs even faster? With a shortcut key you can launch any program with the tap of a few keys on your keyboard. It's easy - You choose the program(s) and what key strokes. (Continued)

Note: Click on any image for a larger view of that particular image.

Locate the icon of the program that you want to launch faster. Then right click on it and select Properties.

Then put the mouse cursor in the Shortcut Key box (click on the word None )

Choose a key combination that you want to use as a shortcut key using any combination of CONTROL, ALT and/or SHIFT keys along with any regular keyboard character (alphanumeric). Then, on your keyboard, hit that key combination. You will see your key combinations appear as you press them

Then Click Apply and you are done. You can test it out immediately by just hitting the same key combination. If your program opens, then it is working.

Hi, thanks for your comment/question. My thoughts are that you probably have the wrong driver installed for your Keyboard. What I would do is go into your Device Manager (For Windows XP: to get to device manager you would right click on your My Computer icon then go to Properties, then click Advanced then Device Manager. For Win Vista: Right Click on Computer then go to Properties, then in the upper left hand side of the window you should see Device Manager). Once in Device Manager, locate your Keyboard in the list, then click on the little Plus next to it and then it should show you the driver installed. For mine it says HID Keyboard. Anyhow to get it to re detect the driver, right click on whatever you have (so for mine I would right click on HID Keyboard...and then Uninstall it, then Reboot) Once you have rebooted it will automatically detect your Keyboard and install the correct driver. If you need more help please post your question in the Forum as this is not the best place for me to converse back and forth with you.
