Set XP To Automatic Logon
(0 - user rating)
Written by mypchell.com
Despite the fact that it is a huge security risk, many folks prefer to have it set so that Windows will auto log them in (without asking for a PW). This guide is for those who want to set Windows to auto log them in.

Note: Click on any image for a larger view of that particular image.

Click backupreg_01.jpg,

then backupreg_02.jpg

Type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 then click backupreg_03.jpg

Select the user/users to which you want to be able to autologon, and uncheck Users Must Enter A User Name and Password To Use This Computer

Click Apply, then You will have to type in the current password.

Then Reboot and the computer should now autolog you on. (Note: for XP Home Edition, don’t select to auto login as the Built In Administrator , you will get restriction errors)
