Two Questions in 1 post (is this allowed?)

Post by BEAUTY » Mon Jun 11, 2007 11:07 am

:blahblah: Um....hi gang!!  Here are my two thingies for today:
1st) When I go to Yahoo, this box keeps popping up saying "want to go to german;german;grp?"  and it does this every single time I go over there to access my groups.  It is a freakin' pain!
2nd) What is your opinion(s) of the WinRar program?  I use Winzip and have had nothing but problems with WinRar.  So many are pushing for me to get it and I do not want to!
Ok, that's it so rest easy! LOL!

Hi Beauty, back again?

To answer your questions:

1. The Yahoo group message is probably a pop-up. The solution will depend on your browser and version. I just tried logging into my Yahoo group, and I didn't get anything popping up. I was using Firefox latest version with the adblock add-on and I also tried in IE7. IE7 has the pop-up blocker turned on. What browser are you using, and what version?

Alternatively, you may have some spyware in there somewhere. Try scanning with Windows Defender, Adaware SE, Spybot Search & Destroy and/or SuperAntispyware.  If you don't have any of these, they are easy to find on Google, go get them.

2. I tend to use only WinZip, although if anyone sends you a file that has the rar extension, you will need WinRar. Some say WinRar is the best, but I've managed fine with just WinZip for many years. I have both though (just in case).
Don't bow to pressure, the choice is yours.

I need some attention too...  :cry2:  I use 7-Zip for my Compression/Decompression.  Another good one is TUGzip.  As for the Yahoo thing, I'm with Squeezebox on this, probably (Spy/Ad/Mal)wares.

Good luck.
