Hard Drive Problem (Raid 1)

Post by kingkong » Sat Oct 20, 2007 9:31 am

I have 2 x Seagate 160GB SATA HDD's in Raid 1 config (Windows XP Pro)

When my system boots up it shows an ERROR has occurred on the one drive and says it is running in a DEGRADED state.

So, does it mean the one hard drive had died on me?

I don't have any experience with RAID arrays etc. But, it seems like you should be running some diagnostics on your drive, and it could even need replacing. Have a read of these pages:

hi,

In this case, the drives are okay, u will not need to replace them. If this is an HP computer then u can visit this link,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/gene ... R1002_USEN

and can download the patch and also try the steps.

Tf this does not help, then we will have to erase the raid configuration completely and re-set it up on the pc.

For that would like to know if you are using the windows xp or vista and if the raid is set up using the Nvidia MediaShield or is it Intel Matrix Storage. ?

Do let me if this helps ?
